22 Nov Romanian Blockchain Elrond becomes MultiversX
Elrond, a Romanian blockchain initiative that seeks to open the metaverse to the world, has changed its name to MultiversX. The business announced at its inaugural X Day conference, which was held in Paris from November 3 to November 5 at the Palais Brongniart.
Beniamin Mincu, the creator and CEO of Elrond, was joined on stage by Sebastian Burduja, the Romanian Minister for Research, Innovation, and Digitization, and Jean-Noel Barrot, the French Minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications.
Three products will be the main emphasis of MultiversX: xFabric, an entirely configurable and deployable sovereign blockchain module, xPortal, a platform for everything financial and social in the metaverse, and xWorld, a network of interconnected metaverses.
The xPortal app, which will take the place of the Maiar app, will also support transfers in fiat money and provide users with a debit card created in collaboration with Mastercard. Additionally, it will link users to friends via the chat and socializing features.s.

Following the company’s announcement of its new approach on Friday, Elrond (EGLD), the native cryptocurrency of the MultiversX platform, was trading at close to USD 60. According to Coinmarketcap.com, Elrond presently ranks among the top 50 cryptocurrencies worldwide, with a market cap of more than USD 1.4 billion.
