Samsung introduces the NFT platform within its new smart TVs in 2022

Samsung Electronics announced Monday, 3 January, that customers would be able to buy, sell and browse non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with their new smart TVs.

NFTs will be supported by the MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame TV models, which are expected to be released later this year.

“With demand for NFTs on the rise, the need for a solution to today’s fragmented viewing and purchasing landscape has never been greater. In 2022, Samsung is introducing the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a groundbreaking platform that lets you browse, purchase, and display your favorite art — all in one place”

Decentraland, the South Korean tech giant’s first store in the metaverse, has also emerged. Decentraland is a virtual reality platform built on Ethereum.

At its new store, the firm claims that technology blends art, fashion, music, and sustainability.

Users may attend music events with NFT passes in the Samsung metaverse, an immersive universe, while tennis lovers can virtually watch the Australian Open from the Rod Laver Arena starting January 17.

Samsung has crammed its virtual world with attractions such as Sotheby’s, a Soho Plaza dedicated to art and pop culture icons, as well as digital casinos and other gaming hotspots for poker, mini-golf, and other activities. Among other digital attractions, the virtual contains a zoo and a museum sector.

The Samsung NFT Aggregator Platform and Explorer will be revealed in the 2022 smart television lineup.
